Terracotta Jewelry
What is terracotta and how terracotta jewelry is made?
Terracotta means cooked earth in Italian which is a red earthenware material. The items made of terracotta are of natural and brownish orange color. Traditionally, terracotta was used for making earthen crafts like pots and dolls however; the trend has been changed and now it is used for making modern fashion jeweleries. The clay is baked in a kiln after molding into the required form or shape. The uniqueness of the design depends on the way it is molded before baking. Terracotta jewelry molded by hands has its uniqueness and looks different. The finishing of these jeweleries could be either rough or glazed. There are many varieties available like painted, carved, embedded with stones and embossed.
Diversified designs of terracotta jewelries.
The diverse culture and tradition of Indian heritage have given birth to varying arts and crafts which can be seen in modern terracotta fashion jewelry. The Indian terracotta jewelries are popular due to its ethnicity yet contemporary in design. There is a passion amongst the fashion manias to go for the vintage accessories. The terracotta jewelries are hand crafted and is a best alternative to the expensive gold or metal jewelries. They are available in interesting array of designs and colors. They can be worn with traditional dresses or teamed with the trendy modern attire. They carry a unique style statement. Till now in rural areas and in different tribal communities, the earthen terracotta ornaments like necklaces, bracelets, pendants, and chokers are commonly used. The unique beauty of the terracotta jewelry is its rustic look which is very appealing. The traditional terracotta jewelries are based on tribal themes like animal or tribal god and goddesses. The contemporary terracotta fashion jewelries are designed with different shapes with abstract themes.

Art and Culture of India
India is the motherland of art, culture and architecture all across the globe where each historical monument in the country like the forts, palaces, caves, temples, mosques and churches reflect the glory of the era to which they belonged. The Art and Culture Tour of India unravels an unforgettable journey of the monuments of the olden times in India like the Taj Mahal in Agra, Uttar Pradesh; Ajanta Ellora caves near Aurangabad in Maharashtra; the mesmerising temples of Khajuraho and South India along with many more structures portray the enriched architecture of India in the olden times.
Indian traditional art forms are the most evolved and cultured systems in the world where carnatic music, classical dance styles like Bharathanatyam, Kuchipudi, Kathakali, Kathak, Manipuri etc, theatre and various drama forms including Harikatha and folk arts are amongst the traditional and ancient art and entertainment forms today. Indian films of today were based on the traditional arts in their formative years during 1930's and 40's. Indian cinema especially Hindi and Tamil cinema have evolved as the largest film industries in the world next only to Hollywood.
Indian classical arts like classical music, classical dance, theatre and drama possesses traditions and history dating back to several centuries and Carnatic and Hindustani music have their roots in "Sama Veda" one of the four Vedas which are the eternal and timeless scriptures from which the religious and social ethos of the sub-continent evolved. Bharatnatyam, a celebrated dance form too is based on authoritative sources like "Natya Sastra" by the sage Bharata Muni and "Abhinaya Darpana" by Nandi Kesava dating back to centuries before Christ.
